Fang Guide (UNFINISHED)

Hello, this a brief character guide to Fang the Sniper.

This may only apply to Old Engine 2.1.

# Overview

Fang is a fairly simple character, with 3 abilities.

1) Bounce - This ability works only in mid-air. If held, fang will bounce in the air depending on how long you held the A button for.

While in bouncing state, he is immune to common enemies such as Piranha Plants and some other hazards compared to his regular jumping.

The bounce can be cancelled at any point, this can be cancelled after the initial bounce to make his jump shorter. This will help Fang stay grounded or avoid walls.

The bounce can stop Fang's momentum when he hits the ground by taking your hand off the movement controls.

2) Cork Shoot - This ability is allows fang to shoot a projectile that kills most enemies and blocks. However, Fang will need to crouch in order to hit shorter targets such as Goombas or blocks, which slows him down.

Fang's Cork's have a limit though. You can see how many corks he has by his lives.

3) Skip - By far, this is Fang's best ability, and has multiple uses. It boosts Fang slightly forward.

When used on a wall, the skip will push Fang upwards swiftly which allows Fang access to higher routes excluded to mobility characters.

When Fang has a mushroom, his skip turns into a faster boost to his ground speed compared to his base form.

If he has a feather, he will get one extra skip, which can be spammed to increase his speed.

When on a wall, the skip has no cooldown, meaning he can climb faster than Knuckles.

4) Slide - Finally, we have the slide, which is performed when you hold down on the controller and use skip. It's not a very useful ability, and does not give Fang any speed, but it does deal damage to most enemies.

However, it has a short range, meaning its use never takes longer than a second, allowing for some tricks.

# Tricks

By using Fang's abilities, we can create some interesting routes and tricks for his speedrun.

My favourite category to run is World 1, which I will use to demonstrate some tricks.
