The rules currently state that you can only use the level menu between certain levels. However, in hacker, after you have hit yourself and before the level ends, you can escape to the menu and access the level list and go into fall. This skips closing the game, the chats and the box room. It saves a good 2 - 3 minutes and from fall onwards the story mode continues as normal.
Wondering if this should be added to NG+, as it gives a significant difference between the two and saves a lot of time compared to Any%.
I have done a run with this strat and the time save is pretty clear. Just a case of whether or not it's allowed.
Run starts at 37:30 and the skip is at 49:50
If anything, it would finally truly set the two categories apart. I say allow it!
Oh yeah, this totally legitimizes this category to me. I just did a test run and I got sub-20 first try, and that was with me missing the office->station->train->gate skips. This could be a fun category to transition into if you feel you've done yours in Any%!
Also, one quick note, as it turns out you still have to reset your story progress between NG+ runs, otherwise you skip all Core sections save for the last one. At least that's what I'm guessing what happened to me.
Completely forgot about the other skips at the end. Should be 18 minutes easily
Gonna leave the runs until Soulcloset sees this. Want a second opinion on new rules and stuff before I go verifying runs.
I definitely think NG+ should include this skip. I'll verify both of your runs after posting this (even though you could just as easily, Vytheros), and I'll add an abridged version to its rules.
