For a speed game that has been picking up lately, I believe we need some more moderators. Though most of the time a run takes 1-2 days to be accepted, I find that some runs take 3-4 days to be verified. Also, the mods AMVX and Kura are totally inactive, meaning we only have 2 real mods. Is it time for more moderators?
We were talking about this before and I definitely don't see the problem in removing mods that no are actively checking and accepting runs and replacing them with a couple others that check here a lot anyways. Also with the possibility of more people coming in from seeing the Shots Fired 2 run means that there could be a lot more requests on the way.
I appreciate what the current active mods have done, and I know that they all have lives beyond speedrunning, but some extra help is a good idea.
I can't speak for Kura, but the reason AMVX is a mod is that they created this page before I started doing runs of the in-browser demo a little more than a year ago. I believe I have the ability to appoint mods, and so if the general reaction is positive, I'll be looking out for someone trustworthy to add.
(For the record, I just finished my finals and my last year of high school, so I was preoccupied in the last 3 days.)
Hope your finals went well Soulcloset! And from my understanding any Super Mod can appoint other moderators, so I don't think that's an issue.
@Soulcloset Kura asked if he could be a mod in the past, there's a thread about it from a few months ago. That's why he's a mod I think. No idea what he is up to though as he hasn't been on here in a while.
I've been busy with work and trying to find a new job, place to live and everything. I do check in as often as I can though and verify what I can when I can but it does take time.
If there is anyone that seems trustworthy, is active enough and would like to be a mod, I don't see why they can't be one.
I vote in favor of Bullets and/or justin. I can't speak to their trustworthiness, but they are solid people and active.
I hope things went well with finals, Soulcloset and I wish you look on finding new real life directions that suit you Vytheros!
@Ellieceraptor Thanks, I would honestly have recommended you as a new mod to be honest. You know Any% and Katana% pretty well and you are one of the most active people here.
To be honest, I would second for Ellieceraptor. Nobody's promoted yet, but she seems like a good choice to me.
