All secrets rules?

It's a bit of a pain in the butt to clear all the data for every individual run, but that would definitely be the quickest way to do it instead of NG+. Unlocking all the secrets and then doing runs has the completion dialogue play for every terminal, so it takes a ton of time to finish. But nothing stops you from just doing NG+ if you don't want to reset every time, and later you can decide if you want to take it more seriously and start doing it from a clean file. It's still a run that hasn't had much done with it, so it isn't as strict as the other ones.

The new game + run is similar to the any% run, but you can use the levels menu in between certain sections, saving a lot of time.

The all secrets run requires you to find all the secret terminals in each level. To be able to do that multiple times you would need to clear your save file by deleting the super.hot file in your AppData. You can make a copy of it though if you don't want to lose your challenges and endless mode progress.

I think All Secrets should be made a primary category alongside Katana% and Any%. What do you all say?

I think so just based on activity and variety compared to NG+

All Secrets is no longer in misc. Seeing as it has become active recently it'll stay there for now.

Sounds good. =)

Should there be a NG+ variable for All Secrets as well? The time saves would be similar. If not, should the established route use NG+ skips or be like Any%?

I've been messing around with the All Secrets run for a while (Haven't submitted anything yet thought), but I seriously think it should be done from a clean game file. If it's a more serious run, and not one of the misc. categories, I feel like it would be a more legit/complete run if it was from a new game file.

There's an Any% run and a NG+ run, so if people want to do an All Sectrets NG+ run, there should at least be a category for All Secrets (without NG+), for those who want to take the run more seriously.

I see All Secrets as a 100% run of the story, which would then prompt the use of a blank file. The NG+ skips would save time, but I think the distinction between Any%, NG+, and All Secrets balances out well.

Sounds good to me!

Separating All Secrets even more with NG+ and NG I don't think is worth it. Another thing to note is that if people do it from a NG+ file, they can also use Level Select if they miss a secret, while if someone on a NG file does, they have to go through the entire 1.5 minute cutscene at the end and then go back and get it (since they don't yet have Level Select). So I think especially for that reason we need to define what is and isn't allowed better.

I agree with Bullets, separating the category further would not be helpful, especially considering there's only a few runs at the moment. And having use of a new game + file for All Secrets makes it easier to check which levels have already been done and which haven't.

It's good to establish these rules. Should we enforce a clean save requirement so that it's consistent between all runs?

I just noted the need for a blank file in the rules for All Secrets.
