Managed to capture me softlocking the game with Adam. Have done this before with Cherry too.
Tried with Shiva as I figured the dash was a part of it but didn't seem to work.
Anybody else experienced this? Anyone with more knowledge than me lol
Happened to me 3 or 4 times already with Cherry. This happens sometimes when you go too fast to the right.
It has happened to me too at almost the same place, but the screen was scrolled all the way down (just before the car) and I was playing as Floyd.
It behaves the same way as when an enemy is stuck somewhere and the game requires you to defeat him before it unlocks the next section. I've had that happen in the sewers, where a Francis was standing outside the scenery, above one of the pits on the narrower bridge sections. Luckily the screen allows backwards scrolling there, and we could reach him with a star move, so it was possible to continue after that.
Also had it happen there as well. In addition I've experienced it in 1 other spot (forget the stage).
I know where you mean Truncated, the BTs/Galsias can get stuck in Stage 5 pretty easy.
There's also a section of Stage 8 (Art Gallery) near the end when there are two chairs, if you don't destroy the bottom one then the BT gets stuck there almost all of the time.
This used to happen to me all the time when I ran Floyd Normal.
So right before the vertical section literally before you encounter your first B.T. there are 2 Donovans who are supposed to jump out of 2 manhole covers then 1 with a pipe, it's possible for the screen to scroll too fast for the 2 Donovans to hop out, which the game considers mandatory to beat before the car crash, thus you softlock.
Just don't move too fast when that section opens up and you got nothing to worry about.
Wow I expected Adam/Cherry/Shiva but I wasn't expecting to hear a Floyd run managed to lock it
