im playing stray for the first time and i got livesplit and the timer without loads, randomly it just stops on 4:21 idk why and idk if its supposed do do that ??

The way I understand it, you have to add the splits and their names yourself. The autosplit feature only implements information in the program about when to make splits, not the splits themselves. And the reason your timer stopped that quickly was because you haven't added any splits: you play the game, get to the first split and livesplits attempts to make the split but since there are no splits behind your current one, the timer just stops and livesplit thinks you've completed the game. The splits you need should be: Prologue, Inside the wall, Dead city, The flat, The slums, Rooftops, The slums 2, Dead end, The sewers, Antvillage, Midtown, Jail and Control room. If you want to do the slums skip, you need different ones, I don't know those. This is my first time using livesplit, so I might be wrong here, but I had the same issue as you and doing this solved it for me.

Is an autosplitter. They split at every end of chapter, so you need more. It'd be handy if you could either configure it or that it tells you how many splits you need. I think 12?

if you have a file where you beat the game, you can select that file and there's a select chapter menu for split names
