I don’t want to download LiveSplits because I don’t wanna risk getting a virus, so I was wondering if it was needed for this game.

A cool site that I use that you need to put in no information on is https://ylorant.github.io/splitty/ It's free and reliable, plus you don't have to put anything in, just start running. You also don't need splits, just a timer.

read the rules, a timer is not required (we manually retime), you will not get a virus from downloading livesplit from it's official source.
