@Sm_Izumi I know. But is very true to SOR originals. Don't those kinda fit in the same category as hacks?
Not really that I'm interested in, I'm just curious what characteristics on the game exactly make it not fit Speedrun.com.
There's multiple points to that :

It doesn't stay true to the originals, far from that, it's a very bad Streets of rage. Decent Fan game but not a good SOR overall and if you start to dissect it, it can even fall into the Bad category.

Extensions categories on the site are indeed, Hacks, fan games or special categories such as 100% / No Food / No weapons or whatever silly thing you can do in the game that doesn't belong to the original categories. It's generally used on very popular games that have a big amount of users in order to spice things up like they say. It is a way of changing from the normal speedrun and have some fun but those are created for big games and SOR series fall in the Obscure category.

More in depth with SORR, let's just IMAGINE this game got in here, what would be the categories ? You perfectly know how the SOR categories are, they let people play on every possible difficulty, characters and setting possible in order to leave the choice to people. Now take Remake, it has :

2 Versions, 1 Official release and a Fan Patch version (cause the game was a mess on launch)

5 Difficulties, Easy, Normal, Hard, Very hard, Mania

12 characters, 18 total with the different versions.

4 Routes that have an insanely stupid amount of shortcuts and different branching leading to 8 endings.

So i let you imagine the number of categories in this freaking Mugen game lol
The way I see mods deal with brand new games that has few runners is to create 1 or 2 categories just as an experiment.
Since it's Just IMAGINE =D, All I can do now is tell you how I would do:
Streets of Rage Remake for PC;
Rules:
- Version of the game: 5.1 on it's Final Release (no mods)
- Game options must be shown as "default" settings (there is a "Default" button in Options menu what would make things easy)
- Cheats must be shown as all disabled
- No bosses and secret characters allowed (other than that, can pick any SOR version of original characters)
Since the game also try to mimic SOR1, SOR2 and SOR3 routes, we could pre-stablish the SOR1 route, SOR2 route and SOR3 route (routes would be stablished first stage to last stage)
First categories could start as the following ones:
- SOR1 route (Difficulty: Normal)
- SOR2 route (Difficulty: Normal)
- SOR3 route (Difficulty: Normal)

I wanna be the guy is an example of what is considered a fan game and that has a huge speed running community. That game literly takes sprites from other games and even has been on games done quick. Streets of Rage 3 has a few paths and another game that I speedrun called Guardian Heroes 4 difficulties, 5 pathes, and two playstyles so that euals to quite a few categories and that game is accepeted to this site and another speed run site. I'll even moderate the game if y'all want
My submission got rejected due to someone mistakening me for another person. I left a public comment on twitter and got no responds and was accused of lying for bonus points like lol. Anywho, since you are the moderator, and I have to ask you for permission, I'll ask you publically on this post here instead of another website. Can y'all add streets of rage remake on the speedrun.com. It's a game I really enjoy playing, & have a huge passion for. I seen many other fan made games run on Games Done Quick as well as other sites.
