Do we need splits for any of the runs?

Mexico

Using any kind of timing software is completely optional. The use of a timer (and splits) helps you keep track of your progress as you can save your best segments, use the run prediction, know your pace, compare segments, among many other things.

In the end runs are timed to the frame when they are considered too good while regular runs are timed to the second for simplicity using external software capable of retiming by counting frames, that gives an accurate timing of a run regardless if a software timer is used by the runner or not.

In my own opinion I would totally suggest you to use a timing software so you can keep track of your progress. You'll be able to know where to improve, it'd be easy to remember where a mistake was made and therefore you'll know where you can save time. All these data can be very helpful. Also if you can't capture the timer on screen for your runs you don't have to worry as you can still use it offscreen to keep your times and data for yourself.

Mingura coming in clutch with a good answer. Splits are very helpful, I would suggest them as well.. but ya, not necessary. a run that isn't being timed in the moment can be put into software to find the accurate time anyway. I'm pretty sure the mods do this with any runs that come in, so a video of a run without a timer on the video should be just fine. SuperiorSone just got 11NC NMG WR while pointing a camera at a CRT , so it should be good xD

Thank you all, I appreciate it very much.
