This is good for the people who suck at SMO (me)
It is any% but stops midway through the Lost Kingdom. Collect the bare minimum of all the kingdoms until the middle of Lost Kingdom, timing ends at collecting the 5th moon out of 10 of Lost.
I have done with with 1 player and 2 player (my friend was cappy) and both runs got a time of 45 minutes with my really bad route. What do you guys think? I might record a new run of this and post it here as a reply if anyone is interested. (I don't have a capture device so I hope a phone recording is ok.)
I think this is an interesting short category idea. If there are enough runs, it should be added to the boards.
This sounds cool but I’d say timing should end upon throwing cappy on the globe to put the 50th moon in the odyssey.
No offense this sounds, this is the same idea as theo%. But this one stops at Lost instead of Sand
I can imagine the idea working, but let's make it a little more of a meme - 69 moons. The reason I see it being more interesting than Theo% is because you will add more moons on top of Any%
50 moons, 60 moons, 69 moons, etc. are all very similar as half-any% speedruns. However, we already have Festival%, so one that stops in metro probably isn't the best. 50 moons seems like a solid idea, with a nice, round number of moons, and a good stopping point.
69 moons would end in Lost with a proper route. 42 moons would probably end in Lake or Wooded
I think it makes more sense to make a cat which ends after beating bowser the 1st time, in cloud kingdom, as beating him marks the first encounter with Bowser and makes it a sort of a halfway point in the game. This makes more sense instead of ending midway through lost.
