It’s to do with the MK8DX wheel

I mean for the viewer its the same content youre watching, but for the player its much harder so I dont think its that fun to watch.

I think limiting this behind the plastic wheel is a bad idea. Just forcing you to play with the controller sideways would mean more people could run it. I don't think people would run this very often either way, doesn't sound all too fun (even though I did 2 runs with the joycons swapped around, very similar idea)
