Please stop talking about what should and shouldn't be added. The game releases in a week, the mods will decide (aside from the obvious any%).

Is any% actually obvious when it involves amiibo, assist, and 2p?

Amiibo wouldn't be unfair. Amiibo unlock costumes that either aren't necessary or can be bought anway, or they reveal a collectable which I think isn't very useful for a speedrun.

I think the rules should specify for no amiibos and no assist modes. If the costumes have special abilities that's number one, if other players can buy those abilities in game it's a time waste. I'd recommend having the category fair for all and not get an unfair advantage cuz they have money to burn

Lastly, I start timer upon choosing start from the opening menu and end the timer when the Super Mario Odyssey logo appears

We decided time ends in the "explosion" in the electric thing. Confirmed by the mods.

The Mario, Peach & Bowser Amiibo all have a certain ability in the game.
I've only tested Bowser, but it had no limit on how often I was able to use it.
(although Peach & Mario have more impact so they might have a timelimit or smth)

The community decides the categories, mods don't decide on which are allowed. So why should people stop talking and discussing about what should or should not be added?

Sixty_nl, the community as decided on which categories are going to be added, but people STILL insist on saying "yeah I have 5 million arbitrary ideas that make no sense" as "category suggestions". It's ridiculous.

Then make it clear, because the way you worded it you made it seem as if the mods decide. So in future posts please be more clear.

I have a super smash bros. amiibo for Dr.Mario, I tested it and all it seemed to do was help me find a moon and it gave me a costume.

Maybe do a category with as little captures as possible, sort of like SM64's ABC.

My friend and I did a Co-op run will there be a category for that?
