This particular route will be better for exhibition as it's far less likely to result in a reset. You're likely right, that it isn't faster than the Fossil Skip, but I'll have to test the timing. This route skips an unskippable cutscene wherein Cappy explains fueling the Odyssey and that could mean something.
I currently don't see how this is less viable for full-game runs than e.g. Sockfolder's cannonless
The boss loads once you get the First Moon. I demonstrate this in the vid. However ideally we might be able to clip into one of the bonus rooms with Rex. If we can hit 5 Moons we may be able to skip her entirely. It's a long shot though.
If we found a way to get up to the Painting Platform we could use that, and incorporate use Rex to break the First Moon box, if I'm understanding this correctly? Also, could we use something like the Bound bowl Clip to get into a bonus room?
The Roll Cancel Clip (the Bound Bowl clip you're talking about), appears to only work on very specific walls. Only bound bowl and early pyramid have been found. I doubt it will be able to be used anywhere in the Cascade Kingdom, let alone a useful spot. Just to update the forums a bit, clips have been discovered using the Roll Cancel in Cascade Kingdom. Allows for the first moon to be obtained with no captures whatsoever.
somehow I managed to trigger the boss fight without collecting our first power moon, I went to see her up close for fun and the fight started. If you fight madame Broodal this way, what happens after the fight? If someone used this in an any% run is there a faster moon than our first power moon that wouldn't crash the game??
okay, so I tried the t-rex trampoline skip after jumping the bridge wall and the boss still loaded?? could someone test this out and see if this particular method of bypassing the invisible bridge wall is triggering the boss setup? I have never successfully executed the water jump method, so I can't compare the two myself. I am concerned this may be an anomaly with my copy of the game or system, and I do not want to unintentionally mislead anyone
I tried it myself, but the boss didn't load, neither through Dino Skip nor the path you took in your video link. I have no clue why this is the case. I went around the whole boss area, hoping that the boss would load, but nothing happened. Does it always trigger the fight in your game? Maybe it is because I use a different version of the game? I am really confused.
When I saw your two videos, I saw that you already had plenty of coins, suggesting that after you did the first moon skip, you explored the areas for a little while. Did you do anything notable during this exploration that another person probably wouldn't do while trying to replicate the boss loading, such as warping to a checkpoint or reloading the game?
initially, yes, as it was the first time I had made it past the wall, and I was eager to explore. however, I have since done it multiple times on new files, and on a different profile, each in one session with no deaths or warps. the path doesn't seem to matter, madame broode has always loaded for me after the first moon skip. I'll keep trying to figure out what happened
yea u have to get the flag that is after the boss fight, and then go for the first moon, ones u done that go for the boss and it will trigger
I was under the impression that Pyorin managed to trigger the Madam Broodal bossfight prior to getting the first moon. Maybe I'm misreading something.
i dont understand this, so hungry boot, capture chain chomp, to break the wall of the first moon, but didnt get it, then he went to the boss fight, get the 3 bananas and mess around the map, after that he went for the first moon,... but the game crash, i am right?
