124 is the minimum needed to enter final fight? or is this just a random number, and etc for other categories. Wondering since any% isnt a min category
Right now, 124 moons is any%, but with Amiibo, Assist Mode, and 2p banned. We're currently discussing in the discord changing things so whether or not those are allowed are just subcategories.
Read the rules of each category, that should give some clearance. Yeah, 124 Moons is Any%. I'm guessing "Any%" is there as a misc category in case some sequence breaks will be found which could skip requiring 124 Moons to beat the game. EDIT: And as HowToCantaloupe said, apparently Amiibo, Assist Mode and 2p are banned for 124 Moons.
little question: first we (you) got the category 124 moons, then we (you) renamed it to any%, then (as you just said) maybe a shorter way/cut off/glitchfest/sequence break/major bug/blj lol/etc.will be found, and so then (to speak in sm64 language) the current any% will be renamed back again to 124 moons (a.k.a 16star), and another any% is going its line (a.k.a. 1 star)...but maybe later another one will be found (a.k.a. 0star) to make any% completely obsolete...not to mention 1key if you want :p
but my main core of the question is: why not letting it at "124 moons" if the game is 3 days old and no one knows what the future will guide us to in "low effort"-speedrunning-gameplay?
