Hey there! I come from TASVideos where the main emulator used for making TAS' is BizHawk. Someone on the forums there pointed out that BizHawk was banned for the ACE runs of this game and a few of us were wondering why. The rules here only says that it is banned without giving a reason and as far as we're concerned, it's very accurate for SMB3 emulation.
Alyosha, an emulator coder for BizHawk, is working on making the emulator as accurate as possible so it would be beneficial for him to know if there is a genuine problem with it or not! If anyone knows the reason for this, please let me know so I can pass on the information :)
Producks and/or Tompa would be able to give more details or at least respond more accurately but basically BizHawk (and VC) handle memory corruption differently from NES, which means that some wrong warp setups would be possible on them while being impossible on NES. Other than memory corruption they're perfectly fine (or even better than some NES emus i guess although it's kinda irrelevant for RTA to use fceux or bizhawk if it's not any%) so it's not a problem for other categories.
