Would it be faster if you did flagpole glitch on 8-2 instead of waiting for bullet bill glitch

It has come to my concern that figuring out flagpole glitch on 8-2 would technically be better than bullet bill glitch because you usually have to wait for the bullet bill would it be faster?

No, getting fpg in 8-2 with a high 2 on the timer will tie unoptimal bullet bull glitch framerule I believe. Most full fpgs will always save time even if the setup looks slow. But sometimes the setup is too slow like in 5-3 or 1-3. Doing full fpg in 5-3 or 1-3 will tie the fpg framerule

Oh so it saves the same framrule but harder to do

It's 1 framerule slower than what the record does because record gets optimal bullet bill glitch. But the fpg ties unoptimal bullet bill glitch framerule. And unoptimal bullet bill glitch is a framerule slower.

BBG saves two framerules over standard flag pole grab, fpg only saves one. So you would be one framerule ahead if you did bbg instead of fpg.

No, unless your a tas than bbg would save 2 framerules over fpg and 3 over top of the flag.

No, it saves 2 over top of flag and 1 over fpg.

I meant to say no if you did bbg you are 2 framerules ahead over top of flag but 1 framerule ahead of fpg

ok random question: if you did perfect RTA plant jump (no L+R) and perfect RTA BBG, and didn't get cointossed, how many frames would you have saved the optimal RTA framerule by?

The Optimal BBG in the TAS saves the framerule by a frame or 2.

Why are we talking about tas if this is about human made runs?

He was asking about a perfect plant jump and perfect BBG, how many frames would you have saved the optimal framerule by? In theory, you could still save the lightning 8-2 framerule in RTA. If he means without a fast accel in the beginning then you would save it by 18 frames, since absolute perfect RTA fast accel saves 3 frames.

Mars I think its because the chances of a person doing 8-2 fpg is slim

What about full fpg, would it save a framerule over bbg?

To answer your question, this is specifically the reason why PAL is faster overall. It's not possible on NTSC tho

bbg is basicaly the tecnique to get full fpg in ntsc lol it can indeed be done without it in pal and is a ton faster, but hard to achieve
