I just wonder what you guys estimate

When do you guys think 455 is happening? I say Feb. 2019. When do you think 5th place will be 456? I think April this year.

United States

I think 455 will be late this year, maybe Nov or Dec. And yeah, I'd say 5th place will be 456 around April

@MrTim131 I guess for 455 it really depends on how many runs andrewg or stuckinaplate do this year. Heck it could be someone entirely new to the game. Yeah, 5th place 456 is coming soon.

I'm going to go rogue and say 4:55 is never... Unless something new is found that significantly changes setups or a new trick

I would say that we could save another frame rule by sometime in september, and I think 4:55 will for sure happen. I believe that a 4:55 will happen by 2020.

Victoria, Australia

I'm not sure when 155 will happen but I think another framerule will be saved reasonably quickly, due to 8-3 fpg still being available, as well as 1-2 if people want to go for it. Don't forget there's also backwards acceleration in 8-4, which I expect people will start to use more.

What do you guys think about 5th place 456?

Well think about how long it took Darbian / Kosmic (who both saved the same # of framerules before 8-4) to get their WR's...

To get 4:55, they need to save TWO more... which means getting:

1-1 FPG 1-2 Wall Clip 4-1 FPG 420 Blazeit or "fast 4-2" 8-1 good judges 8-2 optimal BBG 8-3 FPG 8-4 1 frame wall jump

... Which means Kosmic would have to re-do his run with an additional 1-2 clip and 8-3 FPG... and Darbian would have to do the 1-2 clip and blazeit/fast 4-2

Keep in mind, those players (Kosmic, plate, Darbian, somewes) are the best in the world, and aren't going to get significantly BETTER any time soon. It is SO much harder to add in those final two tricks to their runs... just statistically speaking in terms of rate of failure. You'd be talking about 20x as much time.

Just my thoughts.

But 4:56 5th place? soon. Tavenweb / SMBMAST3R already got it... but wasn't recorded :) There are a few runners doing perfect framerule BBG runs, with 1 frame jump and a single fpg...

4:55 you don't need 1-2g to get 4:55, you need to save 1 more framerule over WR and get a really really good 8-4

I predict 5th place 4:56 by maybe this month, or next month, by tavenwebb

@kingof_jonnyboy And no, it's not about how many runs you do, it's about the practice too. Both are very important, practice moreso. Practice is so important, it's almost everything. Runs are basically everything you practiced all put together, and with meaning.

@Darpey 455 will happen for sure, unless everyone that will ever go for it dies WutFace Never doubt speedrunners to go the next step, or to find something else, or to be crazy enough to do anything.

@kingof_jonnyboy And stop clicking "Post" more than one time, just be patient and let the post go through, we don't need more than one

Ill be honest when i saw 4 notifications from you on this thread in a row I thought you quadruple posted OpieOP

Quadruple posted LUL LUL I think I'd have to be really impatient to do that LUL

8-4 IL record barely makes it a 455 with that @Lul_ecks_dee
