In 8-2 I keep dying at the same section at the end. It's the small chamber with a pipe on one side, bullet blaster on the other, and three random parakoopas bouncing around inside it. If anyone knows a good way to approach this section please let me know.

Approach those parakoopas like REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE but just make sure you press left a lil and go rite under the first 1 and jump on the cannon and jump off it, or go rite under the first 2 and do a foo jump rite to the other side (aka just like in my PB not verified yet)

english translation: slow down a little bit, go under the first koopa, and jump over the last 2 koopas. This will almost always work. sometimes, if all three koopas are clustered to the right, you can jump over all three koopas.

Yep aldyun and jetu said the good stuff. I usually always do Lucky boi mode and bop the first and the last. But its way better to learn the strat from aldyun and jetu. Good luck! PogChamp

go in it and skip all of that crap, unless obviously your aiming for a sub 505

Ive done it the Way I told since the beginning and cant say much other information. But he can surely do it its alot easier but in further runs you have to get that section all the time so I would practice it from the beginning. But Yep thats another good way to get past em I acually never knew that was possible. LUL

If you take the pipe, it despawns the three koopas

Since his PB is a 5:10, I think taking the pipe isn't really that viable at this level of play anymore as it's going to waste too much time. As the other guys said, slow down a little for the first parakoopa and you can typically run under him and jump over the other two. It's a tricky area, but with enough practice, you can learn how to better deal with it without slowing down too much.

Another strategy is the “xeroxfBBBB” created by xeroxfiend

It’s nearly 100% consistent and doesn’t waste much time (339 or 340 in game timer).

I exclusively use this in races, and it works with small or big mario

I’ll upload a video tutorial on it after I finish my coffee

(The other thing nice about xeroxfBBBB is it always gives you a predictable, high, final stairs koopa too)

Here is the tutorial on xeroxfBBBB ... I highly recommend it as a safe, but fast, strategy until you are going for ~5:05 or lower.

No idea why it manipulates the parakoopa to ALWAYS be the "middle" one you can bop on top of... but it does. Doesn't make any sense.
