Mark My Words

I've done some researchs and from what i could find. or more like what i realised nobody ever done a run of SMB on mobile despite the existence of delta and GBA4IOS (Although they're all gone today sadly) ...but then i found one video. on a very strange channel. that has only ONE video .. the video is about a speedrun of pokemon green any% where the person use a few glitches to wrong warp to the end cutscene. why am i mentioning this? because it was done on A PHONE emulator. more precisely GBA4IOS when it was still available. one if not the only mobile speedrun of a game that isn't available on mobile. so that what made me do my researchs and made me realise that NOBODY has done this outside from that very person or atleast i could not find any documentation So MARK my words i shall speedrun SMB on mobile (Although i'll never get a world record due to both not being that great with mobile emulator controls and also due to not being good with the new tricks. but i'll do it for the sake of doing something in gaming that have never been done before, in case any of you wonders i will use the online website that provide the possibility to play retrogames on pc but also on MOBILE with ZERO download required. im talking about retrogames.onl so i assume its allowed, it should be because there zero problems with it its lagless it emulate the games perfectly as well. so mark my words!

lots of people actually have ran on mobile and we get quite a lot of people asking to have mobile emulators allowed on the leaderboards (or maybe I've seen a lot 'cause I've been here for so long idk lol.) The big problem with mobile emus is how inaccurate most of them are. You can easily find a couple runs done on mobile but yeah people don't spend time on it 'cause it's not allowed anyways. Niftski only did it for fun and probably will never try it again, kinda like Miniland getting sub 5 on a calculator lol

Considering that times have changed and that things like aurora exist (its an online emu that work on all device and its pretty accurate imo) maybe we should change with them. You get my vibe? Many speedrunners want to speedrun but dont have/cant speedrun on pc so they have to use their phone but are locked away from the "Main Games" Also i never noticed a single difference between other emulators and web/mobile emulators…

the problem with accuracy is that it's usually not noticeable during gameplay. 99% of the time there's a framerate problem where an online emu or a clone console or whatever runs at 59.1823723575135235 fps or sometimes even at higher fps than the NES (60.09898139) which makes it impossible to accurately retime and also can make it so a WR is unbeatable because of a higher framerate. While I do think some are accurate to an extent (like 60 fps flat or something which isn't accurate but at least consistent with the most recent releases of SMB1), there is no way to test everything. My horrible laptop was able to run SMB1 somewhat fine so I'm pretty sure anyone is able to run at least on emulator

Basque Country

is not hard to make smb1 run well in nestopia or fceux playing in any pc, i also have a super bad pc but it works perfectly ofc you need a pc in first place for that matter lol, but nowadays is pretty common

anyways, mobile speedrunning is poggers

you'd be surprised at the amount of peeps who don't have a PC in 2022.

I suppose that's true, and nothing is stopping you from running your games on mobile emulators. However they just can't be accepted on these leaderboards and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.

Just play and practice as much as you can on mobile, and when you get access to a console or PC, do runs for the leaderboards there.
