There are some TAS strats that are impossible for a human to achieve because they involve pressing left and right at the same time, which is physically impossible on an NES controller. However, would this be possible on a machine like the Nintendo Switch? Both the left joystick and the D-pad can be used to control Mario. When I try doing them both at once, they seem to both cancel each other out and Mario doesn't move. However, I think that in the hands of somebody who isn't trash at SMB1, using both the joystick and the D-pad might help with speedrunning.
Also, congratulations to Niftski for the new world record!
They made it so it will act like you are pressing nothing when you press left+right on the switch virtual console
As mentioned, they cancel eachother. However, it is possible to press L+R on NES. You have to press L then R in less than a frame (0,0166392635s). Idk if it has been done before, but it is possible. Way too hard to be usefull and it's banned anyways
The Mods ruled it so you can't press left and right to make it register as nothing. So no right+left at all.
