can the moderators maybe add a category like boss rush or super meat boy speedrunning the game backwards? just curious
For a new category to be added here it would have to be somewhat competitive (and somewhat non-arbitrary), you would need an amount of players doing those kind of runs. In the case of a boss rush, it really wouldn't be interesting for this game, because it would basically just be praying for a good Larry and IL escape. Some people ran reverse boss order but it's kind of the same deal (with more duping) and it will most likely never be a category aswell. Mods can't just create tons of categories with one or two players in the leaderboard. That said there's nothing restraining you to do those kinds of runs on your own.
You don't need a leaderboard for this. Nothing limits you to do yourself the challenges.
Imo as long as the category has enough competition and is somewhat reasonable I see no reason why it couldn't be added.
Shouldn't runs be done before adding a category ? I mean if you invent a category as weird as possible like finish 1-1 one-handed on a full moon and ask it to the leaderboards, it doesn't sound right, does it ? Usually when someone asks for a category, he should come with runs to show and to detail how it's interesting, no ?
i will do the run and show what i am talking about. i am a fresh speed runner i just decided to start speedrunning 2 days ago.

The category needs some level of competition or potential for competition to be considered for addition on this leaderboard. This is the first I've seen these categories proposed in the 2.5 years I've been speedrunning this game, so I'm a little skeptical that these will catch on. You never know, tho. I do appreciate your enthusiasm and wish you the best of luck with your attempts!

I'm confused. Why are you asking us to add new categories if you aren't even running the game?
