Why is there no glitchless leaderboard?

I’m a new runner and I prefer to run glitchless because of the easier use and things like that. Is 120 star glitchless?

70 Star is the "No Major Skips"-Catogory, but it is pretty hard to learn the whole stars and movement. 16 Star uses MIPS clip and BLJs which aren't really hard. I would recomment that to start out and then do 70 Star which is more movement based. 120 allows any glitches but you don't have to worry about that at first.

So they all allow glitches but 70 doesn’t allow major level skips? Does that mean 70 or 120 is the closest to “glitchless”?

California, USA

Mario 64 as a whole doesn't use very many glitches. The glitches used are small clips here and there as well as the major skips that Daidkupe mentioned. A "Glitchless" run wouldn't be that much different than the runs you see.

Ontario, Canada

The closest you'll get to a glitchless run is 70 star as that category bans the use of the BLJ (backwards long jump) technique which is used to get to levels earlier then intended. But other then that the game isn't really glitch based it's heavily based on movement and camera control

A full glitchless run would be boring imo, so I like where we are with the 70 star category. :)
