I'm getting ready to start running Sm64 and I heaard using a n64 controller is great for those who have used it so I really want to know what the best brand is for one.

There aren't any good USB N64 controllers. You'll want to get an official N64 controller with a Raphnet adapter if you want to use N64 controller.

You do not want USB N64 controllers. You want a high quality USB adapter for your original N64 controllers. The Raphnet Adapter V3.0 is by far the best adapter for N64 controllers and is by far the best way to play SM64 on emulator. The Raphnet Adapter has very good poll times, low latency, and special plugins designed for it that give it native input. Using an N64 controller is by far the best way to play SM64 on any platform.

Can confirm. I had a usb n64 controller and after a month of speedrunning, both the joystick and the A-button were torn out. Then I got a xbox one controller (with bluetooth, but usb is better for runs.) Works like a charm, and I prefer that one over both the original n64 controller and the hori!

Dont get a usb n64 controller. I got one and it broke after 2 weeks of just doing ok 16 star runs.

I use a gamecube controller with a gamecube adapter. If your really wanted you could use a n64 adapter to usb

I bought n64 usb comtroller 2 month ago and dismissed it in two weeks becuz that is very bad. I recommend not to use n64 usb controller (bad english :-/)
