I just bought a jap version of Sm64 and I was thinking about buying an adaptor (cause my n64 and my tv are european). There is an adaptor that runs the game at the same fps as he would in a jap n64? And If there isn't, what should I do?! :(

Haven't heard of an N64 region adapter yet. I'd suggest buying a japanese System and using the Power and TV-cables from your european system, since these cables will fit on all versions.

BusinessAlex, so I should buy a japanese n64 because all my european cables can work on IT? How is this possible? The japanese n64 Does not burn If I put my cables? And, I don't even need to buy a japanese Tv?

Italy

Because my TV is ITALIAN (so it's european).

I'm from Switzerland and I also have European Power sockets and TV. I tested it myself since I have both european and japanese consoles. The only difference in the cables is actually the shape of the power cable that plugs into your power socket. The chunky plug that connects to the console is a transformer that levels down the electricity to your consoles need, which is equal for all console variants. The TV-cable is also completely equal to all variants as they all can output either Scart, S-Video or even RF. So in the end you really only require the console itself cables excluded if you already have another system.

Technically you could even get an American system and remove some plastic corners inside the cartridge slot, because the european one is the only one that actually has a chip in the main board that locks out other regions. American and Japanese consoles only have slightly different cartridge shapes that prevents them from being put in the respective other console. But honestly, I don't do that because I couldn't get over physically breaking off a piece of my console.

Almost all of TV's these days are region free. Like mine, im from germany and my TV supports my JP N64, NTSC NES and my JP SNES ^^ Most of the newer CRT's are region free too :D

My TV is a "mivar 14 p2" and It's a OLD Tv (on this tv you can play the original duck hunt with the zapper). If use this Tv for the jap. console, will IT work?

Yes, the japanese console does not output sound or picture in a different way. It definitely will work as long as you have your cables from the european console. All console variants are the same. Only the european one has a lockout chip inside, but that's only to prevent foreign games to be played.

Well, the only thing that most likely will occur with a japanese console with an european tv is that your picture will be black and white if your tv can't handle the NTSC signal. Older models usually can't handle NTSC.

You don't need to buy a japanese N64, there's a great tutorial for how to get a jp n64 cart to work in an NTSC n64, (I think it works with PAL too)

Canada

Just take the back of the cart and switch it with an american cart you don't use, problem solved.

@Kid_Gamer Nope, doesn't work with PAL. PAL consoles have an actual chip on the main board that locks out other regions.

Also doesn't work, because he has a European console. He would need another console anyways for that.
