The goal would be to get as many stars and shine without taking damage, similar to the SMOCE. Switching between games mid-way through a run should be allowed. The timer starts depending on which game you play first (character select on 3DW or black fadeout in Bowser's Fury and ends when you either take damage or die. This, like SMO, would be more of an endurance challenge therefore the time would be displayed based on the combined total of stars and shines you get. For example, grabbing 72 shines in Bowsers Fury and 100 stars in 3dw would give you a time of 172hr 00m 00s.

In the SMO version, the leaderboard is worked so that the person with 880moons is in First with 880 hours, and then 4th has a time of 832hrs. So I think it might be possible to work around the system to get longer times = to get higher up on the leaderboard. But your idea also works

fir has already gotten all one hundred shines, without amiibo, without damage The Rules are overall pretty self explanatory but there's a few small things I need to clear up. -No Amiibo. -No exiting out of the game to avoid damage or restart boss fights. -Losing a propeller hat to going in water, picking up an item, or jumping onto plessie is not damage or considered taking a hit but losing it to hitting an enemy is. -The above also applies to ice skates with the addition of losing it to bonking into a wall not counting as damage.

if we did add this, both games would be seperated

I was thinking that it should be a both-game or at least there is both-game sub-category. I did a couple of runs and my highest was a 48 shines in 3dw(end of w2) and 62 shines in bf(got to postgame). Due to the game being grouped through worlds and furys, it only takes 3-4 runs before there is an obvious way to when you should end the 3dw and move on to bf and vice versa, with clear points on when to stop, ie at the end of a world or fury. Another point is length, however, the 480SS exists. A solution is to add breaks like for every 2hrs a 15 min break can take place at any point, to start the break you would press home on the controller, to bring the switch home menu up. In the end, we could have a 380star, 100shine and 480starshine category

there is no reason for breaks lol. 5-6 hours is way too short to warrant a break imo

Canada

you do not need a break for a run under 10 hours.....i never get why All Moons has them. the onyl runs that actually should allow breaks are ones that are over 24 hours

United Kingdom

Ok so no breaks, so why can't this be a both game catergory
