Tips on setting up a speedrun timer.

I've been having a rough time trying to set up a speedrun timer like the one seen in this video.

It seems to start as the cinematic bars fade away, and stop at the exact moment the final boss execution transitions to a cutscene.

I've plugged in the load remover, and I've tried setting the timer to game time, but nothing I do seems to start or stop the timer on it's own. (As it appears to do in the video I linked. Perhaps the runner is very good at knowing when to manually start and stop, but it looks automatic.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've watched several Live Split tutorials, but they either just cover cosmetics, or cover a game that's incredibly easy to set up.

I am 100% capable of setting up a timer for Minecraft, or any speedrun with a lot of pre-existing resources. I am completely lost when I have to piece together one myself.

Hey @TsoBadGuy I just realised when looking at your name you did the MP3 compilation that was a goldmine of a video loved it a lot, was a great motivator when I used to run MP3

So that speedrun isn't really a WR (essentially clickbait) and isn't using accerate timing as we won't be pausing during cinematic bars or the hideouts just that the load removal will manage the pausing during loads and that's it, I'm assuming how he did it was by manually editing the timer in after actually running, if he did submit that run it would be counted as a 28:01 ish RTA (as he isn't following the timing rules set out therefore will be forced into RTA) current WR is a 21:05.2 RTA by Holo.

As mentioned in a previous thread will post some more information (including a quick tutorial) about the load removal soon before the embargo ends as it requires a bit more messing about than normal load removals due to needing console players to also get their loads removed.

Edit: I didn't realise the video said true ending, so I would be wrong I believe that is WR for wude ng+ at this moment?

Wow, what a small and wonderful world. Really glad you liked the Max Payne 3 video, I put a weird little piece of my soul in it. It's very kind of you to call it a goldmine and motivator, this fills me with a warm cocoa feeling of goodness, and for that I thank you.

Thanks for setting me straight on the legitimacy of that Sifu "WR" video, and what I can expect. I suspect your assumption about the timer is correct as well. I must admit, I feel a little silly for bringing this example to the table. My eagerness got the better of me.
