I hate to pester anyone, but I just think that cheat codes vary the gameplay enough to have its own category. It would be separate so it wouldn’t interfere with any% or other routes. Both Shovel Knight and Specter Knight speedruners would have another route option. I repeat, sorry if everybody is set on banning cheat codes but I at least think it should be considered.Me and my friends (and others on the Internet) have done cheated speedruns, and they really enjoy the different codes and variations in gameplay. I feel it should have it’s own category as long as there are interested runners. Thanks for hearing me out!

this is something i suggested a while ago and the mods dont seem to want it on the srcom lb unfortunately. ive done a couple runs and have them on my youtube channel but i think theyre unlisted

I run this game in this % and I think that it opens many new experiences for players to speedrun because some people aka me suck at this game and it will make it easier for people to run this game

Honestly I will do one I think it would be hilarious to make and I would title it come watch me fail at this speedrun in quotations (can't beat the first level)

HeroOfTrainz, there is nothing stopping you from running the game with cheat codes. By all means go right ahead. It is fun! I've done races with other members of the community using all kinds of game altering codes. That said, this leader board is here for cheatless runs. You are welcome to continue doing so, I obviously can't prevent you from playing and I certainly wouldn't want to! I'd rather you enjoy the game however you like, but for speed runs submitted to this leader board there are only so many categories.

There are so many game altering cheats that you'd flood the game with categories that all have one submission if you started doing cheats. Not only would it be obnoxious to have all those categories, there's also very little demand.

I still think godmode is an entertaining enough category that it deserves more attention that it gets, but I also definitely understand moomoo's reasoning.

Personally I think 4x damage should be a category.

what if there was a category extension page, like how there is for Super Mario World.

Going strictly off the websites “amount of followers” statistic, it appears Shovel Knight is about half as popular as Super Mario World is.

Not saying there are no runners at all, heck there are a great amount of active and great runners! I just think there needs to be a higher demand, as much as cheat codes would be cool on leaderboards, I respect this community. And maybe when this community does get really popular, there may be possibilities for extensions for all the other miscellaneous categories

Makes sense. We don’t want just a board of mostly empty running categories.
