Wondering if Shovel of Hope is required to submit runs or if it's allowed to run the game on Treasure Trove.

Just as long as you have the character's game you plan to run, that's fine. A lot of runs on here are from well before any of those subsequent versions even existed. They're basically just re-brandings.
