Exact Timing End?

When exactly does timing end? The rules state that it's on the last action "when the inventory box turns black," but the inventory box for the Staff turns black when you select it rather than when you use it. It seems everyone splits when using the Staff on the Behemoth, but I'd like to know the exact frame in case I ever need to retime my split off the VOD.

My guess is that rule is for Glitched rather than Glitchless. I would also guess for Glitchless it's the dialog appearing?

I ran glitchless and I think I split at when I pressed the button on behemoth or a bit later so they can framecount it what the exact time. It's better to split a bit after the last action ( Pressed a button with a staff on Behemoth).

Looking at video, I think the best place to end timing is when the "WHAT DO YOU WANT TO USE THIS ON?" text appears again after clicking the Behemoth.

I'm probably going to make some people mad doing this. So the timing ends when the last action happens, with the use command in glitched, and using the staff on the behemoth in glitchless. If you are trying to get a frame count, or a really fast time and want to eek out the frames, then use the following method. After you execute either command (use on behemoth/use on EI) the bottom menu (containing USE/MOVE/OPEN/etc.) will disappear and start rolling text, timing SPECIFICALLY ends once that bottom menu disappears. During a run it'll be impossible to get a completely accurate time, but I expect this ruling to be used only in the instances of the top 5 times, or in highly optimized categories.
