I know the last story is really short, but I wonder how well it would do as a category. Both any% and no CCG.

Last story would be skipping cutscences, The Last Way for approximately 2 minutes, more skipping cutscenes, then a rather easy boss fight once you get the strat down. So not exactly the best run ever, but it might be added in the future since it's been brought up quite a few times now.

The thing is there isn't much point in doing a Last Story run when you could just IL Last Way or Devil Doom. When an entire run is just two ILs, it isn't really very significant.

06's last story is the same thing, just longer, and it has its own category. Probably because 06 is a more popular game to run, and it doesn't have a glitch that is basically an easy level skip.

In regards to CCG, there is a glitchless category for every pathway that goes by in-game time, so if this category becomes a thing, (which I doubt) that is always an option.

CCG wouldn't really affect if the category is added. Last story being added as a category would probably make more sense if The Last Way wasn't so easy get through even without CCG. It only takes two minutes without CCG. With a two minute stage and a minute boss fight, the category would die pretty quickly.

I'm ok with adding the category if the other Shadow board mods would be, but my vote would go to no need to add unless there's reason to believe that it might help introduce new runners to the game. In that case I believe Neutral No CCG would work better for that as you really only need the Egg Vacuum unlocked to get a competitive time. Last story would require someone to play through the games 10 different endings and last story at least one before they can begin runs that have any chance of being competitive.

I can see why mods would think that way. The last story takes hours to unlock. Some runners could download a 100% save file and put it on a memory card, but assuming that said runners would play the GC version, not everyone has a modded Wii to put said save file on the memory card.

Glad to see what the top players/mods think about this topic. Personally, I'm more of a 2D Sonic runner, but I like to run the 3D games sometimes. (Mostly Shadow and 06, but I am interested in running Generations, maybe Unleashed Day Stages, and SA2 Sonic/Shadow ILs.)
