Co-op and gems question

So i'm assuming Co-op means you need to actually use both characters like at least tag into them once or more times?

But how exactly does the "no gem" category work? Since it's completely empty means theres no examples either to look at.

The Co-op category isn't meant for a single player using both characters but specifically for cooperative play together with a friend to run with who has their own seperate controller. We may consider merging it with the main category and just letting people choose either if the idea doesn't catch on though.

For the no gem category just head to Customize > Gem Unit from the main menu then remove the gems manually from a particular character's loadout; that'll let you use the character without any gems equipped when selecting the new blank loadout.

We felt like it was important to give people an oppitunity to have a level playing field without gems since alot of the better ones are only obtained through DLC and can easily skew the results of a run if they're abused - at the same time we didn't want to wipe the leaderboards just because everyone coincidentally happened to be using bad gems at the moment - it's not a problem right now but can easily be in the future so a category split seemed like the way to go.

Ah is see, didn't actually know that was a thing. Thought it was just 1v1's with 2 characters. And haven't actually spent that much time on the game so thought the gems were like changeable, but always equipped. Thank you for the response.

After some additional thinking and doing some arcade runs myself to experiment, I decided to merge both Solo and Co-Op categories as well as Gems and No Gems for the time being. I feel like these are things that could have a big impact in the future and it's possible we might re-split them when the time eventually comes for it but with how little runs currently exist and how unoptimised they still are it's going to be some time until we see a significant divide between submitted times and I'd like to promote a single competitive category to help foster the scene.

Thank you for your understanding.
