This video shows how a TAS can skip paying the BribeClaw, watching the cutscene of Tricky running away, and watching the cutscene where Fox declares his mission accomplished before finding out that the queen is sick. For simplicity sake, this can just be called BribeClaw skip. It saves about 12-15 seconds compared to walking back to Thorntail Hollow normally and watching the cutscenes. |

Useless, but Fox can push the Ocean Force Point Temple block while underwater |

A Life-Force door can be used to cancel a cutscene, and it does not have any vertical checks: I had to use hacks to unset the "discovered" flag. This flag is set during the Krystal segment when approaching the Life-Force door, even if the door is gone/already open. This would be a very useful discovery if someone found a way to keep this flag unset for Fox, because if an RTA viable K5E was discovered, this would be a very easy way to cutscene cancel in WC. I can't think of a way to make this viable in RTA: The current WC void walk strat would be too hard in RTA (roughly 1 in 25 chance, unless we can find a setup) |

When throwing the barrel, while moving upwards it appears the barrel can bounce. It may be possible to perform a cannonless explosive barrel clip in TAS if you can get a perfect bounce. Edit: Maybe not possible, I think Fox cannot be pushed while doing his throwing animation. |

Useless, starting from glitched bike state Destroying the bikes early does not seem to do anything. Reloading map with a zoom restores the bikes. If you hit the race start + race end trigger, you can win the race, but this is possible without destroying bikes. |

This isn't really a glitch, but I just built a program to simulate through all possible orders for placing the objects in the K5 test. Using this, I confirmed that the current ordering used by RTA speedrunners of the game is indeed the fastest order for placing the objects. This order is: Dinosaur Horn, Cloudrunner Flute, Moon Seed, Wooden Block, Asteroid, Golden Tooth. |

I discovered that you can call Tricky while in the room where the K3 warp pad is, and have Tricky clip through the door and into the room. I also posted a video of one way that speedrunners can do this, which can be found here: (you can also call Tricky on the lower floor to get him to clip through, but I wanted to make it more clear in the video where Tricky was coming from) As Dark X-Rane pointed out, this could be used by speedrunners to damage down to low-health much faster for the ESW after K3. Someone should probably also check if there's any way to exploit this to get Fox to clip out past the door (such as through feeding Tricky). However, since no one found a way to use Tricky to clip past the K4 gate, I'd be surprised if there's any way to make that work here... |

I don't really have anywhere to post this, so I'll just post this idea here: This re-route idea might save a few seconds over what my TAS does. In my TAS, I skip getting the fuel cell behind the explodable wall at the top of Ice Mountain. I then grab 3 fuel cells from the Cape Claw Well and savewarp back to the top. Alternatively, we could grab the fuel cell behind the explodable wall at the top of ice mountain. Then, we could grab 1 cape claw well fuel cell, and fall off the platform to die (from fall damage) and collect the 2nd fuel cell at the same time. This deathwarp would then let us get back to the top. This might be a few seconds faster (hard to say - since getting the fuel cell at the top of Ice Mountain is kind of slow also). Either way, I'm not re-doing the whole TAS for such a small timesave, so I'll leave it to future TASers of this game to test this out and see if it's worth it. |

Useless but funny: If you die on the same frame that you destroy the last spire in Dragon Rock, then Fox is shown falling in place in mid-air while the CloudRunner talks, and then the game abruptly sends Fox back to the start of the challenge. The CloudRunner's dialog continues in the background after respawning. |

I already posted this in another thread, but just to make sure this doesn't get buried in the wall of information, i'll briefly post it again here: I discovered that you can die on the same frame that the cutscene of freeing the CloudRunner in Dragon Rock starts in order to save 16 seconds (note that this is likely TAS-only). Below is a video I made showing this new strategy on the left, along with going through this CS normally on the right: |

Celestial informed me that you can make Tricky teleport closer to Fox by pressing heel while turned towards the edge of the room that the CloudRunner is in. Doing this makes Tricky flame the CloudRunner about 2 seconds faster. I tested it out, and it turns out that I can still make it to the explosive barrel to die for the cutscene skip, even though I have 2 less seconds to make it there. Thus, the cutscene skip doesn't lose any time over watching the cutscene normally compared to the difference I measured between them earlier. As such, the cutscene skip is still 16 seconds faster than watching the cutscene normally (but both the normal method and the cutscene skip method are both exactly 2 seconds faster than they were in my original video). Below is a link to a video showing this improved version of the trick. Ignore any optimization issues after I die, since at that point, I just wanted to show that the trick worked, and I don't intend to continue the time-comparison after that point |

Edit: Nvm, this is not possible. There is a "Change Disc..." feature in Dolphin that I should have been using instead of savestates. SFA will display a prompt that the game is not Star Fox Adventures if the disc version changes. ============= This is not allowed in speedruns, but in Dolphin you can make a savestate on v1.1, then load it on v1.0 (or vice-versa). This causes the wrong audio files to play. There are probably other glitches too. Skip to 0:45 for Dinosaur Planet audio |

Edit: This is a significant enough discovery that I moved it to its own thread This is also a Kazooie discovery, but I do not think the glitch was fully understood. I have learned a bit more about the mechanics. Frame perfect climb + Tricky Feed causes camera to glitch. Then you can move the camera OOB, and return it back in-bounds. This allows us to set up something similar to Memory Leak, I think. Feeding Tricky after camera is OOB will lock camera in place. In this video, we were able to unload the LFV trees due to camera lock: Also, it appears that this effect can transfer over to other files Additional Info: I am very curious to see what other props we can unload with this trick... |

K3 Door Unloads based on Fox's distance, making any skips very unlikely without ESW Another boring one, can crash using Tricky Ball + Feed while OOB |

An ESW trigger extends through the wall after rescuing Baby CloudRunners. See my later post. No hitbox on crates: Original Dino Flip? High Top voidout Baiting scales from wall First ESW |
