Forum: The Site Thread: SRC Rules Feedback Started by: kirkqkirkq |
Focusing on the game submission guidelines. Not every game is going to have a community out of the gate. Someone has to lay the groundwork and without access to a resourcelike src to share their work with potentially interested parties the level of difficulty of having a run Garner interest is incredible. Making judgment calls about how much effort you THINK a developer put into a game is disgusting, at a glance someone could say this whole website looks like a week's effort of a teenager with copy pasted w3cschools assets |

yes, no emulator has as much slowdown as the console so they are separate leader boards |

New update seems to introduce a bug with doors when you use the reset function. It makes them stay opened, though since it requires you to do at least a partial playthrough beforehand to setup I don't feel like it should be included into the run. A rule requiring all buttons to be pressed would mean that accidentally triggering the bug before an attempt would not invalidate it and force a reset. |

There was a slight update that added a few features. Firstly, direct input support for more controller compatibility Then there is a new shortcut to return to the menu for faster resets, simply hit esc or start+select on controller And finally the bugs involving coins are fixed meaning that will return if you use the reset door at the end of the game and now 100% is finally possible. If you could just delete the 95% category and make a new one for 100 I'll have runs to submit eventually |

Emulator runs are all subcategories of Lays Stax, as they are a poor emulation of pringles |

Not jump rolls from the ground, i also use those in my 95% runs. Could you add a 95% category? Such a short game I don't gave interest in any% |
Forum: Spike Hike Thread: Things I've found Started by: seckswrecksseckswrecks |
So I started running this game basically right at the end of the game jam and I've picked up a few things about it that are worth sharing. Firstly, there is a bug that prevents you from collecting all 20 coins in a single playthrough, thus I have been running 95%. My theory is that the final coin shares the same item ID as another one, I have no tested enough to discover which it is yet though. Secondly, if you cancel a mid-air roll by hitting jump you can start rolling again right away, alternating between hitting jump and roll allows you to get much further distance than normal, although I am not entirely sure this is useful anywhere in the run. |

Is there anything better that can be done to move a category over to Category extensions than manually recreating every single submission to that category? |

were you pressing A as the menu loaded in order to cancel the wobble effect as it comes into the frame? doing this all 8 times you return to the menu saves roughly 8 seconds |

there are many uses for this, it's basically always faster than taking the time to kill the ghosts, at least in my timing! |
Forum: Celeste Thread: Regarding patch version 1.2.1.0 Started by: seckswrecksseckswrecks |
Introduced in this patch is a change to the way the chapter timer works so that it no longer pauses during deaths, menus or cutscenes, aligning it with the way the file timer works. Unfortunately this means once the patch is available on all platforms, most every IL will be wiped (only ch1 has no cutscenes so only ch1 deathless times will be comparable to the new patch) and a patch 1.2.1.0 or greater rule will be put in place on IL boards. |
Forum: Celeste Thread: are all versions allowed for speedruns? Started by: RoseWaterRoseWater (edited: ) |
There currently is no rule regarding patch version. As of right now, afaik, the newest patch isn't even available on all platforms due to limitations with pushing updates to console eshops. It's been less than a month since release and many things have changed as far as what's in various patches but once the version is finalized and available across all platforms that might change as the general consensus so far is leaning to using the most up to date version. |

yeah they would for sure be under misc. but as far as I'm concerned the current all A sides that requires the 4 hearts that few run is enough, doubt there would be much demand for one that's just pure any% strats |
