Controller preferences?

Sorry if I'm getting annoying. I know that I posted last night. Now, I'm looking for different Genesis controllers that would be both legal and in high regards for its quality.

I'm currently using: https://imgur.com/a/kd3aSxW The D-pad sucks and the buttons are sticky. I need something else.

I've been doing some research on good genesis controllers (ones that I may even be able to use for casual fighting games).

This is what I've had my eyes on: https://www.amazon.com/Retro-Bit-Official-Genesis-6-Button-Controller-Original/dp/B07P255V8J

What are your thoughts? What controller do you use?

Thanks in advance, Techpalms

Many people do opt for a 6-button, yes, and others still are fine with the original 3-button. Worth trying different options and seeing what works for you.

Personally I use a standard super nintendo usb controller. While this may not sound great, for my purposes, which is just speedrunning this game, it has worked fine, as long as you get one durable enough for constant play. I use the bottom three face buttons to spindash and it works out pretty well. The dpad is responsive and the controller fits in my hand nicely unlike the genesis controller. It's just my personal preference though.
