Requesting a Glitchless Category

Hey all,

I'd like to formally request the addition of a glitchless category to Sonic 2. If there's any particular reason that this doesn't exist that's all well and good, but I figured I'd ask. I think the glitchless routes would be significantly different than the routes including glitches and skips, and would open up a new avenue of competition for the game.

Just my two cents. Would love any feedback on the thought you may have.

People have done glitchless runs, but with a game as complex as this one, coming up with a universally liked ruleset for what "glitchless" actually is, isn't really possible, especially given so many can happen by accident. So we've determined it's best to just let people run whatever ruleset they want and not have a leaderboard for it

That's a good point. I was trying to come up with exactly what I actually meant myself and was having trouble. Are vertical wraps ok? What about Tails opening the door in Chemical Plant 2?

Thanks for the explanation though!

There is also the Mega Sonic exploit in Oil Ocean 2. It's how you get the level wrap.

Sonic 1 has a glitchless category, but it's quite arbitrary. No zips, level wraps, or slope glitch, according to the rules.

Sonic 2 would be even more arbitrary, since it's a more complex game. Since it has mega sonic, Tails abuse, et cetera.
