ACE is an incredibly powerful glitch, but there is no realistic way to edit memory in valuable ways. Plus, the run is so short that it's possible that warping to 8-1 wouldn't even be faster, depending on what's found. That's assuming that ACE is ever found in SMB1 which is unlikely.

I'm not sure, but a 5:03 would behave like a 5:03.99 if there is another 5:03 with miliseconds. So a 5:03.23 would go above a 5:03 because of the way src tracks times. But yes, if there were multiple 5:03s, then the one posted first would be on top.
Really it depends on if either the runner submits the miliseconds as part of the time, or to break a tie of multple 5:05s for example to see which is a lower milisecond. Hope this answers your question.
The best that humans can do right now is to tie the human sum of best, which is still unbelievably difficult seeing as 4-1 (I believe) has a TAS only fast accel that a human did to be the first to save the framerule. So even with theoretically perfect gameplay, you still would be a framerule or 2 behind even the no R+L TAS.
people have gotten some crazy pause buffer strats, just look at the wild blue single star record
I would imagine that the NES Classic runs at a slower framerate like all the other ports which would make it run slower, but don't take my word for it
I doubt this is a crash, but probably some sort of weird emu glitch
Oh that's interesting, I didn't know that about PAL.
All your muscle memory is gonna be fucked if you start running on NTSC. Since PAL runs at 50fps and 50htz, it is slower in real time than NTSC. Essentially, if you switch from PAL to NTSC, you'll feel like you're playing at hyperspeed.
According to the absolute Chads in youtube comments, Niftski cheated because you're not allowed to clip into walls
This is kind of a side thing, but low% wouldn't really involve an A press counter because the game doesn't track how many times you've pressed it. I could be wrong, I'm not a part of the low% guys.
