So I recently tried to submit a 1 star vc time when it got rejected due to google drive videos not being viable. I’m not allowed to use twitch or youtube, so are there any other methods of providing viable links?

The rules state: "The video link MUST embed on the run page (e.g. no URL shorteners, or sketchy file sharing sites)". So as long as your video can be embedded, the platform doesn't matter.

There are other video platforms out there (although I can't recommended them) and you can find them with a simple web search (be careful of sketchy sites). Chances are, if you aren't allowed to use YT or Twitch, your organization also blocks other video platforms. Good luck!

Odd. My VC 16 star pb used google drive.

@Wookis yeah they updated the video proof requirements but didn’t delete old runs - however - I think I may have found a way to embed the video - you can get the embed code for the video from google drive but I’m trying to figure out a way to actually embed it

Update: I have been trying for awhile but it doesn’t seem like you can add in html code to video links, which makes embedding impossible :( - trying it doesn’t do anything

That rule was put in place because people were constantly immediately deleting them after accepted, and/or deleting their old PBs when submitting new ones (due to Google Drive having a file limit I assume and people not wanting their videos to just stay taking up their space forever).

edit: forgot the other reason. people were submitting videos on sites like facebook where we were required to make an account to even view the video, let alone trying to retime it. requiring embeds solves this issue as well.

i mean, you can delete or hide youtube videos after them being accepted too i guess it isnt that common tho

Yeah I agree with @Kyman. Videos on sites that require login make viewing the footage unnecessarily difficult.
