The game is dying or just changing?
Many people just have moved on, tbh i was kinda surprised how active the game was about a year ago. The games not dead, just alot of people took a break or only verify runs for the game.
Speedrunning is a thing where you have to dedicate a lot of time to grinding if you want to become the best player, so it’s very easy to get burnout from it. Also I think some people have moved on. Crakerr I know is playing soccer now, and some other runners have just got caught up with schoolwork (myself included). There’s also the fact that not much new content has been added to the game. About a year ago the series only had pages for the first game, and some of Moto X3M Winter. Because of that, I think the game has gotten stale for some people. Of course I could be wrong, but I think those are the main reasons.
It doesn't matter if the game is old or doesn't have new content, there will always be a few people to keep the flame alive (like Melee, the game was dead in the years 2000/2010, but some enthusiasts of the game made a last tournament and everyone was super hype which revived the game and now even in 2022 the game is doing very well (the game was released in 2002)).
Probably won't come back... speedrunning Moto has changed a lot with new starts that could change times by SECONDS. For example, level 17 can be pushed back even farther. Not very interested anymore, even though I'm still one of the best at IL's and full game runs, but my computer sucks and I suck.

Hello i just dont have time whit school and didnt find it very fun to play because it was very inactive, now i see you are taking a lot of wrs well done, i will love to see what happens in the future whit this game
Wait a minute im not the mobile guy that was munchin cat or nan cat they were the best (i dont remember his name because he changed it to something like munchin i think) I did runs both on mobile and pc
Many people including myself had extra time to play due to online classes, working at home, or other covid restrictions. I have a very busy schedule now and just don't have the time for speedrunning anymore. There could still be a chance that I come back to the game occasionally, but I can't really guarantee anything.
If some people that are still in school speedrun this (like myself), the game most likely will have some ups and downs. But also not to mention that some of those people could not have much time on their hands with everything going on in their lives, and it's gonna take away some of the flame that's been burning, but there's still gonna be some kid that's gonna want to run this game. When the flame dies, it dies. Let's try to keep this game alive as long as possible.
