Don't just give up, cuz quite frankly, I think all it'd take is a run or 2 on the board to get the ball rolling. I quite frankly want to run with this idea also, so I'm gonna add it to the leaderboard (you've already got a well-thought out run done, so that's all the justification I need)

Directed to AffectedAshes: if you want to join the Community Discord, I’m trying to start up an extended discussion regarding individual facility rulesets. Since the factory falls within its own team building confines, it was easier to set rules for, but I believe more discussion needs to be had before we finalize those rulesets. Just a few more variables are needed to be solved.

Leaderboards don’t exist for the randomizers, but if you enter the discord server, we can direct you on how to find something similar to what you’re asking for.

Run proposals like this one belong in Category Extensions.

The point of Trade Alt Mains is to be able to play with mons you'd normally never get the opportunity to use as a Main otherwise. Items are banned in every other format of the Trade Alt Main (across the other Pokemon games), so it'd be silly to change that rule just for these games.
- Other than that, it looks like the ruleset is fine (although when I write the rules up, I'll word them slightly differently so that they match the format of the rest of the categories).

My biggest personal gripe with this proposal is with the item. There are some mons that would gain so much more by simply having their pick of the litter (like a type-boosting item) or being able to abuse early cash moneys by having a Nugget (perhaps being viable to use the Game Corner to get a TM previously unviable).
This one definitely could use some ironing-out of the rules. I think it could be a decent idea though.

Point remains the same. The value of a Randomized Run is the ability to make adjustments on the fly. This gets obliterated within a 'WR' setting, where the the goal is to be as fast as humanly possible. Garf's post (from forever ago) still stands.

"Random Seed" is completely pointless because of how shuffled everything gets, there's no quality control, so the only way to make a 'Fair' leaderboard is to just do a Set Seed.

"Set Seed"s problem comes from the opposite effect. In order to have a Set Seed Leaderboard, you'd need to basically make a new board for EACH SEED. This significantly clutters the board, to the point where it becomes nearly impossible to enforce new runs.

Bingos are not very good for leaderboards due to the varied nature each attempt has. The only way to guarantee comparable times is to force players to literally use the same card, because even though cards can be weighted similar, there is always a difference in how the game will be played, and thusly, the result. Feel free to play and race with these rulesets as much as you like though. Bingos are fun.

-Also, really arbitrary ruleset ya got going on. Why bother with a OHKO or Species clause? For goals, the idea is to typically just get different species anyways, but the OHKO clause is literally useless, as pretty much no pokemon that you'd get over the course of the run (unless you end up in the level 50s and up) would come close to learning one.
-Timing method is also arbitrary. Every other category starts on 'New Game'. Because Sapphire has an easily replicable starter manipulation method, I personally don't see a reason to enable 'Safety Starter Saves'.

We've discussed reproduction and flash-carts in the past, and have determined that we do not wish to accept them to the leaderboard. However, using the mGBA emulator would be a suitable alternative if you cannot find an original cartridge.

Run hasn't been completed yet, but I'll be doing a race of this likely by the end of the Weekend with GZ, so just going to post the ruleset here:

9999 Game Corner Coins (FRLG):
- Save before getting Coin Case in Celadon City. (I will also create an mGBA Save file in the style of the Emmy Battle Factory Category)
- You may not BUY any coins from the desk, You may, however, pick up any Coins from the ground and receive gifts from other patrons. (This rule is to eliminate money as a factor. It's against the spirit of the run to grab other items and fight trainers to buy your way through)
- Time Starts when loading the Coin Case save file and ends when the Credit Counter hits 9999 Coins.

So this was originally supposed to be a Glitched Category. The goal was to collect the 200 Pokemon in the Hoenn Dex (possibly 202 since we could also glitch in Deoxys and Jirachi) using the Pomeg Berry/Glitzer Pop glitch. If you want the "Professor Oak's Challenge", it's the 212 Catches (Glitchless) category.

A more direct answer: You are free to attempt to speedrun on a mobile emulator to your hearts content (I got my start on a calculator, fun story).
HOWEVER, we will not accept a run to the leaderboard that is ran on an unapproved emulator.
