It would count as third-party software, so it would not be allowed.

One of the first game rule states: No use of third-party applications to give an advantage (macros, shaders, exploits, etc.).

So I guess it's a no.

You mean like new category Hotel any% (with cheats) or somethin?

even if someone did manage to develop such a tool, it would have to read into the game's code in a similar manner as cheat engine which is a third party exploit

it'd be like using a tool in minecraft that reads your seed and immediately tells you the stronghold location, broken portal frame, etc

such a tool does not and will not ever exist, the game only makes the correct code once you have all the books. This means if you got 4/5 necessary books in library you can't just guess the code (believe me ive tried). The code only works once you have all the books. And the game is rigged so that the 8th book is the last book you need for the code. I bet the creator did this so if anybody tried to speedrun nobody got an unfair advantage from having a 1/10 chance of guessing the lock correctly because it takes a while to get to room 50. And so you need all 8 books to proceed the game.

No you dont need all books.. i know like 4 symbols with numbers and i didnt find last symbol so i just guess it and it opens so yeah

you actually DO need the last book. you cant guess, the game just doesnt allow you to. you REQUIRE all of the books

you don’t need any of the books. when the library is generated a code is made for the door. then the books and paper spawn after that and will have the numbers/shapes according to the code that was generated

yeah you can guess the code and the last digit of it. I have done it many times.

the code and paper always randomly generates when you enter the library theoretically you could guess the whole code without getting any books and without picking up the paper but it would be really hard since there are 5 digits on the lock

As others say here, you do NOT need all books, you can infact guess the last code number, it is possible!

oh i thought you actually couldn't guess the code because I tried it and it didnt work for some reason. guess they must have made a new patch or something :p but still i don't think it would be possible because the code would probably be stored server-side instead of client-side

technically yes it’s possibly to guess the code, the game doesn’t require you to grab any books. but the odds of guessing it are very high. (you know if it didn’t work when you guessed, you ever think you might’ve guessed wrong)
