Questions about certain PC mods - better safe than sorry

Allthough I am expecting a diplomatic answer on this one, I'll better just ask about it before starting discussions about runs I'll submit.

I am currently using two reskin mods for the PC version of Remaster, one making the standard Jill uniform original-RE1-Blue and one giving the RE3 outfit a bit more colour.

Allthough I KNOW that the Hitbox is not altered and only the colors of the costumes have been changed or, in fact, fixed, I wanted to ask if I am allowed to use them in my runs (please?). It makes it all the more enjoyable!

I've had my last two runs submitted with reskins so I'd think it's okay to use them in your runs, but it would be nice to get input from the mods on here. :D I don't think they would accept my Chris runs if I were to use the Tofu mod OpieOP

Ah ^^ which one do you use? Maybe you got better looking ones :D I thought about the Beta Security Reskin, all white ^^

Just out of curiosity, can you do a full run with the tofu skin and post it anyway? ;D

I have PSX Blue STARS Jill and a blonde version of the BSAA outfit lol. I have bunch of others as well, but I've stuck with these lately. I will try to attempt a Tofu Rocket run and submit it Keepo

I'd say stick to no mods. but whatever.

I would rather things keep being played vanilla. It eliminates any future problems/debates and keeps everyone on the same field.

No mods whatsoever would be easiest to go with since there can be no arguments.

That original Jill color scheme would be pretty nice to have though. (´ ▽`)

If the mod doesn't alter the gameplay, I don't see the problem with it. Especially the re-color of Jill's costumes. For the Chris tofu one, I'm not too sure how I feel about it. It's true it doesn't alter the gameplay (i.e. hit box), but its a huge change to the appearance of the character. If a run is submitted with the Tofu costume on, I won't be accepting it personally. I'll let the other mods decide.

I'm curious to know what the other mods have to say on this topic.

Slight color mods for the outfits are ok but I'm guessing it's best to not use them for serious runs. Rest assured that a WR run would probably be rejected if it's using any form of modification, even something that's just visual.

Color and texture mods are probably OK, but complete model replacements are not.

is it legal to disable all game music? i prefer to leave it on but I've seen others turn it off.

You can turn the game volume all the way down in the game options, so I don't see why it would be illegal. The way the game is likely coded is that the music is probably always "playing" just with the volume variable set to 0. This can be proven by turning the volume in the game all the way to 0, then going into a new area that plays music, waiting for a few and turning it up... you'll hear the song will be playing mid-way rather than just starting.

So I don't see there being any performance gains by turning it down.
