Autosplitter V2 available (MAJOR UPDATE)

This is a brand new complete rewrite of the autosplitter script with MAJOR improvements. Now with no need to download any files or keep checking back for updates -- LiveSplit automatically updates it!

Instructions (they're different than before!):

1.) Make sure you compare against Game Time.

2.) If you used the previous version of the script, disable "scritable autosplitter" in the layout. If not, proceed to 3.

3.) Edit your splits and change the game name to "Resident Evil 7". A message should pop up saying an autosplitter by me is available. Click "Activate".

4.) After activating the RE7 autosplitter, click "Settings". Place a checkmark next to every split you want to use.

5.) Afterwards, create your splits. Name them anything you want (just make sure they correspond with a checkmarked autosplit). Order them however you'd like.

Any problems? You know where to find me.

I hope this is not a dumb question but can i use the autosplitter on console runs? I use an Elgato Capture Device to stream my Xbox One on my pc. Or do i need to split by myself when i run on console? Thanks for your time! :)

I'm like 99.99% sure you can't use the autosplitter with console.

California, USA

For consoles, you need to split manually. Autosplits work by reading game files that are locked on the PS4.

Ok. Thanks for the info and good luck to you guys ;)

I'm sorry, but what exactly do you mean by making sure it compares against game time? Is this a setting in LiveSplit?

Edit: Nevermind I'm stupid. Just right click LiveSplit -> Compare against -> Game Time

Fixed a bug where the fuse splits both triggered at the same time. The script will update for you the next time you launch LiveSplit.

TODO: Fix bug where Chainsaw Duel completion is triggered by dying. I know a couple of potential ways to fix it, but it's late and I have to go to bed.

I've never been able to get an autosplitter to work. I'm probably just retarded, but is there a file I might be missing?

What version of the game are you running? Steam, Windows Store, .."Unofficial" version?

It ¤could¤ be that different versions use different memory pointers. This was written specifically for the Steam version, but it could very well work for other versions, or .. not.

Does the timer start automatically for you if you compare against game time and start a new game?

Updated version which includes a few bug fixes (that triggered splits on death) has been released. The script will update automatically upon re-launching LiveSplit. You can ensure you have the latest version by editing the settings of the script and seeing "2.3.0".

New update you'll receive when opening LiveSplit next.

"Fixed the fuse double split problem once and for all. The previous fix's logic would still cause it to trigger. Added a check in fuse retrievals logic to see if the old slot wasn't holding the fuse AND chek to see if fuse 2 is check marked to split and that it has split first, if so. Tested and working."

Where do I put the .asl file?

Ontario, Canada

You dont do anything. Go to edit splits, and in the title type "Resident Evil 7" and then below that it will say theres an autosplitter available by CursedToast. Click activate and then go to settings and check off the splits you want to use.

There isnt an autosplitter available. It doesnt recognize that there is an autosplitter when I type in the game title.

Ontario, Canada

What are you typing in? Just type "Resident Evil 7"

Washington, USA

I did, it still won't detect anything.
