➣ New Game and No Merchant: Video proof is required for ALL runs, starting at the difficulty selection screen and ending after making your one and only save at the final typewriter following the results screen (you cannot make any other saves besides the final typewriter save).

➣ New Game+ and Separate Ways+: Video proof is required for ALL runs, starting at the save file load screen and ending after making your one and only save at the final typewriter following the results screen (you cannot make any other saves besides the final typewriter save).

➣ Separate Ways: Video proof is required for ALL runs, starting at the “GAME START” selection screen and ending after making your one and only save at the final typewriter following the results screen (you cannot make any other saves besides the final typewriter save).

➣ Assignment Ada: Video proof is required for ALL runs, starting at the “GAME START” selection screen and ending after the last input of calling the helicopter.

➣ ALL runs MUST have game sound. Muting the in-game MUSIC is allowed. External music is allowed as long as the game audio is clearly audible.

➣ Showing framerate on screen is required for the entirety of the run. You can use the Steam overlay, MSI Afternurner, RivaTuner, etc. for this.

➣ ALL runs must have the RE4C autosplitter showing thousandths of a second on the video proof. This is submitted under “Time without loads”. The in-game time (IGT) is submitted under “Time with loads”.

➣ Runs are ranked by “Time without loads”.

➣ A submitted run that only has the "Time with loads" IGT fill out will have that time submitted under "Time without loads" as well.

➣ A submitted run that does not display the milliseconds on their RE4C autosplitter will have their milliseconds replaced to 999.

➣ For example, a time of 1:29:17.98 would be reported as 1 hour, 29 minutes, 17 seconds, and 980 ms (note that this is 980 ms and NOT 098 ms).

These rules ensure that the run is truly single segment and reduces the likelihood of spliced runs. There is also no point in making a save file in a middle of a speedrun when you can simply "Retry From Checkpoint".

2 new updates:

2 new rules:

➣ Binding anything to scroll-wheel outside of the default (scrolling for merchants and/or for rifle aiming) is banned.

➣ Runs ranked top 10 or better on any of the categories must show inputs during the whole run no matter if KBM or controller. If you use both KBM and controller on your runs you should only show inputs for the input method you use the most. For keyboard/mouse inputs you can use NohBoard, and for controller you can use gamepadviewer.com or similar. For keyboard/mouse inputs, all inputs must be shown. This includes LMB, RMB, scrollwheel, and all keyboard keys you use.

As always, neither of these rules will affect runs submitted before today (March 29th, 2022).
