How to go down the stairs quickly (like in RE1) on console ?

Thanks in advance.

Hey there, are you referring to stair skating? Because this is a method of going up and down stairs slightly quicker in a lot of RE games. The animation that the game uses of characters walking on stairs looks cool, but it’s slow. So to get around that you essentially spam the aim button for a lack of better words. It’s done by aiming down sight while walking up/down stairs every half second or so. You’ve got to experiment with it yourself to get the rhythm of it down though, or search a video explaining it now that you know what it’s called. I’m sure there’s threads here explaining it as well!

There’s also a few staircases that spamming the UP direction on the analog stick will have Jill walk down slightly faster but they’re not very often. Main one I can think of is the fire escapes in the beginning apartment sequence. I would perhaps find a console run on the leaderboards that also shows a visual of what buttons the runner is pressing in real time so that you can see how both of those tricks are done. I just learned by watching other people!

Having a controller with trigger stops would help out a lot as well

In other words, you press your tiggers in a rhythm. Not too slow because you might as well not stair skate at all, not too fast because it will be too excessive and end up being slow anyways. So about a 1 to 1.5 seconds between. You want to hit the sweet spot. Keep practicing and you’ll get it in no time

its just taping aim, if held jill will almost come to a stop, there is a rhythm to it, practice the timings on the doughnut shop stairs, or other longer stairs that are easy to get to.. and for the apartments (when jill has no weapon) you wanna mash up on your left stick. its awkward to do at first but is doable but you'll want to just hold up at the bottom of the steps to make the tuning smoother
