I'm pretty new to speedrunning when it comes to actually doing it (I'm watching for years), I have only one speedrun - Layers of Fear... to get to the point - can someone explain to me all the different categories for Resident Evil 3: Nemesis? It's my favorite game and I would like to attempt speedrunning it at some point.

Also, if I'm playing on PC but through an emulator, does that count as PC or PS? Since I'm playing on PC but it's a PS version of the game.

For the main board we have 3 different categories, any%, Knife Only and Nemmy%.

Making it short any% is just finishing the game as fast as possible, Knife Only you can only use the knife obviously, and Nemmy% you need to beat Nemmy on every encounter that he drops an item.

You can read the specific rules for every category by clicking on view rules and check both game and category rules.

To answer your last question, if it's PS then you should submit it to PS under emulator and also provide us with the name of the emulator used.

Also if you check the Category Extensions board there are many other categories to choose there too.

Don't be afraid to ask question on the discord server too, people are usually super helpful over there.
