Introduction

Currently the leaderboard takes submissions using 2 different timing methods. Only the Real Time or "Load Removed Time" is required. The other timing method is recommended but is not required. If you are familiar with Rabi-Ribi, the following timing methods, in the order listed on this website, are as follows:

  1. Time without loads = T. Runtime
  2. Time with loads = Real Time

While the Real Time and T. Playtime are easy to obtain, the T. Runtime is only obtainable via the Auto Splitter. If you are not using the ASL Auto Splitter, do not submit runs with "time without loads", and do not submit runs with millisecond accuracy unless you have verified it with a mod on Discord.

Setting up the Auto Splitter (ASL)

Visual Guide from TEVI: https://github.com/AzureHakua/TEVI-AutoSplitter

  1. In order to use the Auto Splitter, you need to be using LiveSplit as your timing program of choice. After opening LiveSplit, right click and select "edit splits" to open the Split Editor window.

  2. Type and select Rabi-Ribi as your game in the game name field. If done correctly, the Auto Splitter will show up just above the splits and you'll be able to select "Activate."

  3. After it has activated, you can select "Settings" to change various settings such as when to split. By default, the Auto Splitter is ready for 10TM. Make sure you have "Use T. Runtime" checked as that will be used to obtain the "Time without loads." Make sure you also make splits for everything that you set up in the settings.

  4. After completing a run, you can obtain your "time without loads" (T. Runtime) by opening your splits and navigating to the "Game Time" tab. It will be the time in the final split. In order to verify this time, you must either submit your splits to http://splits.io or have T. Runtime displayed on your splits.

Displaying T. Runtime on LiveSplit (Optional, but strongly recommended)

While you can always submit your splits to Splits.io, displaying your T. Runtime will expedite the verification process, so it is highly recommended you perform these next steps.

  1. Download the Livesplit.AlternativeTimingMethod from https://github.com/Dalet/LiveSplit.AlternateTimingMethod/releases

  2. Extract and move the .dll file to /LiveSplit/Components

  3. Right click LiveSplit and select "edit layout." From here, add "Alternate Timing Method"' to your layout.

  4. In the layout settings, you can rename the game time if you wish to display certain text such as "T. Runtime."

Runtime and Playtime Explained

Runtime and Playtime are both internal timers within Rabi-Ribi that is actually just a frame count converted into time via 60 frames per second. As such, even with lag, slow downs, or speed ups, these two timers will always be an accurate measure of "how many frames of the game have passed." Runtime is further more useful than Playtime because Playtime's frame count pauses during pausing, cutscenes, text, shopping, and menuing.
