True true, although I feel like if that was true then walking in a few cutscenes would be patched out but then again who knows. Looking forward to seeing you more often.
Oh man intense. Shame nothing came of it. Maybe it really was a one off then.
So I know currently no skips have been found (Other than walking in a few cutscenes) But if we did find anything it would be huge. I notice in WildWill002's run some reason half the basement was completed already and if we were able to figure out why this happens we could save a good minute in any%. I notice him mashing about his controllor a lot could be something to do with this?
Yeah It's a shame we still do have to sit through the Lucas cutscene but none the less it still has some parts you can save time with. It be really cool if we were able to skip any parts of this.
Another thought about this run I currently posted what I think to be the most optimal route but it made me think. As the run is based around the day not ending and you doing it again I thought it would make a bit better sense if the run ended on pressing yes to "Should he turn back the day at the end". As much as I love the credits it could fit better Opinions?
Then another thought since its mainly around just saving all the guests the run could end when you save Lucus as well. Thoughts would be much appricated.
The doors do always do seem a little iffy to open at times. I find Aiming towards to corners of the doors helps but that may just be me. Also going in to the Gardin always lags for me.Look forward to see your runs soon.
So after quite a bit of debate. I think I'll allow It for now and proceed runs that do use it. Hopefully we can all enjoy doing it this way.
Honestly with how fast the text does go by it does save quite a few seconds accumulated over time. Then also its third party software technically and not you're own input I think I'm on the side against it honestly.
Looking at a run submitted by RoShamBoom, who uses a scroll wheel to be able to click through all the text dialog. I was wondering how people felt about something like this? It would speed up the run for sure but as rebinding the keys in game (at least to my knowledge) isn't an option I'm not sure it feels right as I suppose it wouldn't be any different from just using a key (F for example) to spam click for you.
Also I know not a huge amount of people would necessarily have the option to be able to set it up if we did make it the norm.
Yeah completely, I just put that starting area as an opening was unsure about how limiting we want to be. But the whole idea of this run is to go crazy with routing so I think it would be a cool idea to start from anywhere. I'll make the catagory if thats all alright.
I know this sounds crazy but I thought to myself while running this game... What would make this more interesting? As I look down to my phone and enter a door just using a sound prompt I think man maybe I could do this blindfolded.
Of course this would be pretty hard to do the main difficultly I think would be a lot of the doorways and corridors where you can get stuck by clicking in a different circle. I probably wouldn't also do this without a controller as I could just use the analog stick to point my direction than the mouse.
I completed a run like this. Uploading the video on to youtube now. So just to give a review of the idea. The concept of this run is that after you complete the game you can start the day again and do everything you like in the mansion with everything unlocked. You start from a completed profile (doesnt have to be 100%) at the clock in the entrance hall and go around saving all the guests and it ends when you hit the credits. Splits are when you input the action that saves the guest apart from Willow where its when the white flash happens. This is a link to the run Could be much better optimised I just did what i thought would work best.
Hey its no Issue happy you've spent so much of your time to help us out. I'd happily help out as a mod I'm really getting in to running this game.
Yeah I'll give it a go tomorrow and upload it. Wont be the most optimised but its an example of what it could be like at least.
Sure well Ill start doing it when I run it tomorrow. See how it turns out.
I was throwing around ideas and I thought It could be cool to do a run where you start in the end game state (any Clock or a specific one) and you try to complete all the puzzles in as fastest time posible,
It would be a shorter run and Cut out pretty much all the cutscenes, as well as unlocking new strats as some places aren't available untill after it all.
In a game all about routing and timing I thought this could be fun.
Yeah I realised the end wouldn't be great after doing another run and forgetting about the text boxes there haha.So currently I think your suggestion of as soon as the first note plays untill the credits is a good idea. Can I start doing my runs from that?
Hey just about to start running this game. I see its been a bit inactive for a few months but I think its really cool.
Just a thought though it would be nice if if the run started from the first textbox of our "Red lady" and ends when you hit "No" for rewinding the day?
