That's exactly what I was thinking, just gotta figure out what I did the first time now lmao
Lemme have a think about how to implement it, because I don't think a fusion should be a full category. Maybe a sub category
For an update on stream, just finished my Medusa% run. And, well, these splits are just plain EERIE
After giving myself a freakin heart attack thinking I deleted all the runs, I've successfully implemented rules for Any% and All Gold Laurels! I've also added Medusa% as well as Boss Battle with the categories Easy, Normal, and Hard. If there's anything else you'd like to see as a category, hit me up and I'll consider it.
Happy runnin y'all :D
EDIT: To showcase the new categories, I'll be speedrunning 6P CST starting with Medusa% on my Twitch channel~
Hey, Joeypals here~ I'ma new Game Mod whee~ Once I figure out how to add categories and whatnot, this is what I plan on adding.
Medusa% -- Basically, a shortened version of Any%. Will last from Chapters 1 through 9. Boss Battle -- Will include three difficulties: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Pretty self-explanatory, rush through Boss Battle and post times :)
In addition, I'll be adding guidelines for Any%, All Gold Laurels, and Medusa% about how the run needs to be done. Best of luck everyone, and I'm glad to be serving you~
Hi, I'd like to request modship of the Kid Icarus: Uprising game! I currently hold the WR (and trying to get a run approved that bypasses that time by about 5 minutes, submitted 11 days ago), have a How To series on my YT channel in progress, and stream the game on Twitch from time to time. The main reason why I'm requesting is that this is the second time the mods have been inactive for 3+ weeks, with both mods being inactive for a month+ before some badgering from me got everything up and running. In this current process, the overarching Kid Icarus mod has been gone for 28 days and an Uprising specific mod has been gone for over a month.
Hoping to hear back soon~
If I can chime in, as the current record holder (I beat my time again by 6 minutes in Any%, main reason why I'm checking this website at 3A besides trying to find this place's Twitter for a tweet :p).
I 100% agree with Duncane. As the game currently stands, even at "Any%", the game takes at least 4 hours to run, which is quite a long time needless to say. Considering that's 1/6th of the day, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication in order to even finish the game in one sitting for a speedrun, let alone in 4 hours. From my experience, Chapter 9 usually comes right after the 1 hour mark, which is much more obtainable. 1/4 of the time, with Medusa going down about 20 minutes later. So 1 1/2 hours, 90 minutes. About the length of an animated movie. I'm not saying it'll make the speedrunning community flock to this game like Pit would to a Hot Spring, but I am saying that, at the very least, it'll be more welcoming.
As a side note, I would also suggest adding a Boss Battle speedrunning category, for Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulties. They take even less time than Medusa% would and imo should be included.
Now, if you excuse me, got a 4h20m vid to upload lolol
¤nods¤ Didn't quite know the rules, my apologies. Thank you.
Basically, just need someone to go into the speedruns for Kid Icarus: Uprising and either approve it or reject it (letting me know why would be great). One of the game mods has been gone for a month and the other nearly 72 hours.
I'm just going to base this off of my speedrun that I just did (also dude where are you lol). I start the timer as soon as I hit solo, basing that off of the fact that when you land during Chapter 1, there's also a tutorial section so including both makes sense. As for when things end, I count that as when I press L to kill Hades, just like how with all the chapter splits I counted it as the end of that chapter when I landed the final blow on the boss.
I think the only thing that shouldn't be allowed is being able to speedrun a game with an already-started file, as that's currently allowed in the guidelines. Besides that the game lends itself quite nicely to the format.
That probably should be added as a category, problem is the mods seem to be dead (I have a speedrun I submitted a couple days ago)... hmmm
