But of course you could use any decks that you wish. 000aj has been using a Char family deck (including Charizard!) instead of Ponyparas, for instance.

The route is the main difference, as having all of these peon duels to get through means having to minimize deck swaps as much as possible. 000aj came up with this route that, aside from poking into the Water Club an extra time, is pretty tight and has very few deck switches.

Another difference is using Magnemite to Self-Destruct to lose against Ronald consistently. The Electabuzz deck starts off with 4 Magnemites instead of 4 Electabuzzes; edit it after Ronald 2.
