It pains us to do this, but we feel like this is something important that has to be brought up.
So recently, twitch has made a change so that they only allow up to 100 hours of highlights. To all of us that stream attempts, this is extremely heartbreaking to see and it caused some red flags to the mod team on how we are going to handle speedrunning submissions moving forward.
Ultimately, we decided that we are not going to allow anymore Twitch Submissions due to it being an unreliable source for our speedrunning archives. Twitch is no longer considered a trustworthy website and we feel that this has to be our decision moving forward. We all hope that you guys can understand why we have to do this. If anyone does stream on twitch, we would highly encourage you to download your footage and post it to YouTube where it can be seen.
Any Twitch submission before February 28th 2025 (and some others that are still pending) WILL be kept on Speedrun.com seeing as how unfair that would be to any past/present runners that used twitch for submissions.
Again this decision is unfair due to the twitch change, but the situation we are in has had our hands tied behind out backs and we want to make sure verification is easier for us.
i havnt done a speedrun of punch out in like a year cuz ive moved away from it but that sucks
Yeah honestly it's too bad that twitch is no longer reliable. Though I never used it that much I was planning on eventually using it for streams and such. I guess they just hate speedrunners now?
